Debby Gomulka Design’s Casual Design Gala Launches Marrakech® Textile Collection for Home Goods on September 24, 2009 in Chapel Hill. The inaugural event was a big success. Major Retailer interested in purchasing textile.
The event was sponsored by Durham and Chapel Hill Magazines in partnership with Riverview GalleriesTurning Point Gallery, LabourLove Gallery, Persian Carpet Gallery, Whitehall Antiques, Ecko Furniture, Old Growth Riverwood, Wine Authorities and Triangle Brewery. Photography provided by Kevin Seifert. Live Jazz piano music by Chapel Hill’s Robert Griffin, wine and hors d’oeuvres made the evening more lively as guests had a chance to see the new textile for the first time ever, while getting advice from Debby for their design challenges. The event was well attended, with the NC State University College of Textiles Lisa Chapman and Dr. Henry Boyter, who partnered with Debby Gomulka Designs to print the textile. City leaders from Chapel Hill and Durham, as well as veteran textile industry execs were also in attendance.

Make your holidays dazzle this year with a burst of color from the Marrekesh® textile collection from Debby Gomulka Designs. Pictured here is the table skirt that sets the stage for a magical table theme. Items taken from nature, the golden leaves, greenery and orange highlight the copper charger and green bamboo placemats. Splashes of color mixes with natural elements to jazz up your holidays this year. We created a layering effect with gold and red pillar candles to highlight and accent our Moroccan table theme.
The holidays this year are all about creating sparkle, dazzle and special memories with your own theme. For more ideas and details from the Moroccan Holiday table theme by Debby Gomulka Designs click each thumbnail image below!
At last month’s Green Living Conference & Expo Debby Gomulka was a presenting sponsor and gave a speech at the luncheon about downtown Wilmington. She introduced the keynote speaker, Katharine Brass, a GE Executive who spoke about energy.
Debby also participated in the Cape Fear Green Building Association panel discussion with included builders and designers who have worked on award-winning remodeling projects. She presented tips on renovating your home in an eco-friendly way with local architect Jay DeChesere. The presentation (entitled Green Renovations) included a case study on her Williams House Project, which focused on historic preservation and sustainability, including restoration, reclamation and salvage of materials, refinishing techniques, low VOC finishes and fabrics, use of light reflection, and others.
Also featured in this presentation was CFGBA board member Jay DeChesere’s work on 3404 Talon Court in Wilmington, which is North Carolina’s first gut-renovation of an existing home under US Green Building Council’s LEED for Homes standards. It is also the first home in North Carolina following the dual path of LEED for Home and North Carolina’s HealthyBuilt Homes Program.
